Q: How far in advance do I need to order my ice sculpture? A: We will always try to accommodate your last-minute requests to the best of our ability, but it’s best to order your ice sculpture as early as possible to ensure availability.
Q: What does an ice sculpture or ice luge cost? A: Each design is priced individually based on its size, detail, and complexity. Apple Ice offers tons of affordable options for ice sculptures and can work with your budget to provide you with a piece that meets your needs.
Q: How long does an ice sculpture or ice luge last? A: An ice sculpture will generally last 4–6 hours at an ambient temperature of 70 degrees Fahrenheit before losing the basic shape and form. A luge will keep up to 4 hours, depending on the amount and temperature of the liquor being poured. If it is cold out or it is a larger sculpture, it will last longer.
Q: How much does an ice sculpture weigh? A: Roughly 300-400 pounds.
Q: What time should I have my ice sculpture delivered? A: We recommend scheduling delivery for 1–2 hours prior to the start of the event and allowing an additional 30 minutes for set up.
Q: What kind of table do I need to put the ice sculpture on and how do you set it up? A: You will need a strong, sturdy banquet folding table that can withstand the weight of the sculpture. No glass tables! Your ice sculpture will show best with a skirted table with a dark tablecloth for contrast. With our deluxe kits we provide a drip tray with a drain hose and a 6-gallon bucket for the water to drain into, as well as lighting to illuminate the sculpture.
Q: How do you make the ice sculptures? A: All of our sculptures are hand-crafted from 300-pound crystal clear ice blocks with special tools made for ice sculpting like chisels, chainsaws, and ice picks. Smaller designs may only require one block, whereas larger designs may require more blocks to be sculpted together.
Q: Can you create a custom design? A: Yes! We can carve almost anything that you can think of! We can add logos, numbers, letters, custom artwork, color graphics, and even freeze objects in the sculptures. Since all of our work is hand-crafted, there are virtually no limits to what we can do. Q: What types off objects can you freeze in the sculptures? A: Some of the most common objects are flowers, leaves, fruit, herbs, clothing, and holiday decorations, but there are lots of possibilities. We need a 2-week lead time for items to be frozen into the ice and it’s important to note that every item can be frozen into a sculpture, so we recommend contacting us to discuss at 1-800-ICE-TO-GO.
